As we enter into the new 2016-2017 ski season, I have been skiing for 47 years and teaching for 42 of those years. Attaining an expert level of skiing is not a mystery, and does not take many years.  The expert skier flows down the mountain with grace and ease in a dance with the snow and gravity.  The majority of skiers who have been taking lessons for years are experiencing only minor incremental improvements and have become stuck in the “intermediate zone”.  It does not have to be this way.

Most of my adult students are parents of my young students. The young skiers that I coach show such large improvement in a short amount of time that the parents want to see similar improvement in their own skiing. I teach the unique movements that lead to expert skiing.

The parents also want to learn these expert skiing movements so that they can continue to guide their children in proper skiing. The most rewarding outcome is when both the parent and the child learn these movements and begin to help each other improve; this creates a level of communication between parent and child that elevates their relationship for a lifetime.

My specialty is taking skiers who have plateaued at an intermediate or advanced level. I introduce the specific and easy to learn movements that compose expert level skiing and help my students achieve the break-through that they have been seeking. If you have never skied before, I provide the proper foundation that allows the beginner skier to advance quickly in their competence and confidence on skis.

I have teaching privileges at all Vail Resorts ski areas.
